Visiting Nurse Home Care & Hospice Hosts Free 2025 Caregiver Expo

October 3, 2025

This year’s program to address the “sandwich” generation as well as traditional caregiver roles

Center Conway, NH – Caregiving is often something families don’t plan for—but sooner or later, many adult children, spouses, and loved ones find themselves navigating decisions for aging parents, partners, or friends. And now more than ever, more people are in the “sandwich generation,” where caregivers are caring for children and their parents at the same time. To help the community prepare and find support, Visiting Nurse Home Care & Hospice of Carroll County & Western Maine is hosting the 2025 Caregiver Expo on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Mount Washington Valley Adult Day Center in Center Conway.

This free community event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (doors open at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and light snacks). Attendance is limited to 50 participants and pre-registration is required at https://tinyurl.com/CaregiverExpo2025

Attorney Adamsky concentrates his practice in Life & Estate Planning and Elder Law. Alana Illsley – “I’ve Got the Receipts”
Alana Illsley uses humor, photos, and music to share her story of raising two teenage daughters while caring for her mother with dementia. Her performance sets the stage for an honest panel discussion with younger caregivers navigating careers, families, and caregiving all at once.

Panel: “I’m Too Young for This Sh”**
Moderated by community members under 50 who have stepped into caregiving roles, this panel explores the misconceptions about who becomes a caregiver, resources available locally, and how to balance caregiving from a distance. Practical topics such as qualifying for Medicaid services and completing advance care directives will also be discussed.

Kelly Brask – Swedish Death Cleaning
Certified Professional Organizer Kelly Brask will share an insightful and practical presentation on Swedish death cleaning, a mindful approach to downsizing and decluttering.
