Position Summary

This position oversees all agency volunteer activities, including the hospice volunteer program. Responsibilities include coordinating volunteers, conducting hospice home visits to identify non-clinical needs, assisting with bereavement admin tasks, and supporting program operations. Works closely with Hospice Administrator and HR Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Coordination

  • Coordinate agency-wide and hospice volunteer programs.
  • Match volunteers to hospice, patient, family, and administrative assignments.
  • Provide ongoing volunteer support.

Hospice Patient Support

  • Visit patients/families at home to identify volunteer/community resource needs.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff on volunteer assignments.

Recruitment & Training

  • Partner with HR on volunteer recruitment, screening, and onboarding.
  • Assist with orientation and ongoing training.

Bereavement & Documentation

  • Assist with bereavement admin tasks.
  • Track volunteer hours, assignments, and records.
  • Prepare reports for internal use.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience with volunteers or in hospice/healthcare/nonprofit.
  • Comfort with home visits and end-of-life discussions.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills; HIPAA knowledge.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred

  • Hospice experience.
  • Volunteer training experience.
  • Local community connections.
