Position Summary
This position oversees all agency volunteer activities, including the hospice volunteer program. Responsibilities include coordinating volunteers, conducting hospice home visits to identify non-clinical needs, assisting with bereavement admin tasks, and supporting program operations. Works closely with Hospice Administrator and HR Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Coordination
- Coordinate agency-wide and hospice volunteer programs.
- Match volunteers to hospice, patient, family, and administrative assignments.
- Provide ongoing volunteer support.
Hospice Patient Support
- Visit patients/families at home to identify volunteer/community resource needs.
- Collaborate with clinical staff on volunteer assignments.
Recruitment & Training
- Partner with HR on volunteer recruitment, screening, and onboarding.
- Assist with orientation and ongoing training.
Bereavement & Documentation
- Assist with bereavement admin tasks.
- Track volunteer hours, assignments, and records.
- Prepare reports for internal use.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience with volunteers or in hospice/healthcare/nonprofit.
- Comfort with home visits and end-of-life discussions.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills; HIPAA knowledge.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred
- Hospice experience.
- Volunteer training experience.
- Local community connections.
